Blackberry Syndrome: What Is It and Do You Have It
How do you know if you Blackberry Syndrome? Well, are you having pain in your forearms, just below your elbow? Think it could be tendinitis? Did your doctor say it looks like tendinitis? Are you wearing a band around your forearm for relief? Do you want to stop it?
Have you ever heard of Blackberry Syndrome? Blackberry Syndrome is when your elbow hurts at the top of your forearm.
Blackberry Syndrome causes your arm to hurt just below your elbow. The outside of your elbow is quite painful. Sometimes it can bother you all night keeping you from sleeping. Using your thumbs while texting, typing, or gripping too much. Tendinitis is always used as a catch phrase when muscles are tight where they attach, that’s it.
You must soften the muscles first with massage, then start stretching your forearm.Start at your wrist and slide your thumb up your arm to your elbow.If it hurts when you begin massaging your arm, don’t worry the pain will subside.The pain will stop as you soften up your muscles.
It will probably hurt like heck at first, but as you continue to push upwards several times, the full width of the top of the forearm, the pain will subside. Do this until the pain reduces by 75%.
Stretching your arm weekly will keep it from hurting. Stretching 2-3 times per week, if you do a lot of texting or typing each day.
You can do this stretch standing as well. Just place the elbow of the injured arm against a wall. Make a light fist with the hand of the injured arm. Now press down with your opposite hand and hold for 2 seconds. Repeat this movement 10 times. Remember to breathe as you press down to relax your body. This stretch may hurt a little when you first do it, but continue stretching. By the 10th rep, the pain should subside.
Everybody likes to stop the pain without fixing the problem. This is where people get really hurt because they don’t feel hurt. This can seriously create more pain leading to injections or surgery. All it takes is a little knowledge of stretching to save money and you will have less pain.
