How Hard Is It To Detect The Symptoms Of Menopause?
The change of life is something that every woman on Earth will experience. It comes with being female and none of us will escape menopause symptoms.
Unfortunately, dealing with the these overwhelming biological imperatives is never easy. For some women, it can mean years filled with unpleasant and highly stressful changes. Many women worry about how their changes affect the other people in their lives. Thankfully, if you learn to identify menopause symptoms, you can be both a comfort and a help to any women who is going through this stressful time. Learning what you can about these manifestations will help you figure out what is happening to your body and will help you to cope with drastic changes in your life.
Perhaps one of the most “popular” and well recognized changes is the “hot flash.” The hot flash is the feeling of suddenly being way too hot. It will make your face flush and your body sweat. It is as though somebody temporarily turned up the thermostat of your body way too high. Some women liken it to the experience they feel when they go from an air conditioned room to a hot sunny day, only it’s more sudden and more intense. Hot flashes can occur at any time of the day or night. Night time hot flashes are usually called “night sweats.”
Women who are going through this period of almost total biological turmoil often say that one of the hardest conditions to get used to is losing their ability to sleep through the night. If you haven’t ever had a problem with sleeping peacefully for many hours and are suddenly having a hard time staying asleep, and you are in your 40s or 50s, it is possible that you could be going through menopause. Hot flashes and night sweats often accompany the inability to stay asleep. A lot of the time this particular symptom gets misdiagnosed as just some simple sleeping problem.
Depression, anxiety and a heightened sense of stress and even panic is common during this time. It’s extremely unpleasant (although it doesn’t happen to everyone) and all the fear of aging and sickness is common. The good news? It doesn’t last forever and if you realize it’s your hormones going crazy and not Reality, it will be much easier to deal with.
Another common symptom that all menopausal women despise is weight gain. Not only do the pounds pile on but they mostly center in the tummy. This weight is harder to lose than weight gained in earlier years and the days of losing multiple pounds per week are usually over.
An increase in itching is another manifestation that most people don’t recognize. Some women who are dealing with the change of life say that their skin constantly itches and crawls. This is a different feeling than you get with dry skin. The most accurate description is that of “ants crawling under the skin.” This is one of the more disturbing symptoms especially if you don’t know what is happening to you. If you feel itchier than usual and constantly want to scratch, call your doctor. It might be nothing more than a simple skin condition. It could also be a sign that you have started going through your “change of life”.
Menopause is not fun for anybody. Even if you are not having the symptoms yourself, you most likely have women in your life who are going through this period of upheaval. It is a really good idea to familiarize yourself with these changes because doing this will allow you to be more sympathetic when a woman you know starts to go through this turbulence. As well as helping you learn how to be properly sympathetic, you will also be able to understand what is going on in a woman’s body when she reaches a certain age. You might even be able to help the woman in your life figure out what is going on when they start experiencing symptoms.
Menopausal symptoms are difficult sometimes, but natural menopause treatments are offered to lessen the misery.
